Living in the Trees
New Zealand
An elevated house that lifts its living spaces up among an existing stand of trees. Innovative timber engineering allowed the structure to thread between the trunks with a light touch on the ground. The project was a finalist in the 2026 Timber Design Awards timber-engineering category.
