A 50-year-old office building between Queen Street and Lorne Street has been turned into Radisson RED Auckland, the brand's first hotel in New Zealand and its first in Australasia. It opened on 15 February 2026, across the road from the new Te Waihorotiu station. The building now has 322 rooms and suites over 11 hotel levels, sitting on three levels of shops and hospitality. The building is rated at 100% of the New Building Standard. Inside, the interiors play on a theatre theme that suits the surrounding arts district. On top is a rooftop bar, described as Australasia's largest outdoor rooftop bar, and event space for up to 219 guests.
