Ngā Mokopuna is a three-storey building within the Te Herenga Waka marae on Kelburn Parade, beside the wharenui Te Tumu Herenga Waka. It holds the marae wharekai and spaces for Māori teaching, study and staff. The building is aiming for Living Building Challenge certification, with a closed-loop water system fed by rainwater, a steel and timber structure using only New Zealand timber, natural ventilation and rooftop solar designed to make more power than it uses. About 95 percent of construction waste was kept out of landfill. It opened on 6 December 2024.
