The Jack Mann building at the University of Canterbury's Dovedale campus was refurbished to turn its former dance studios into a Dolby-certified theatre and commercial sound stages for the Kōawa screen precinct. The existing structure was kept and reused rather than replaced, cutting waste and embodied carbon. The refurbished building was handed over in September 2025, and the theatre won a Gold Award at the 2026 Master Builders Commercial Project Awards.
