256 Queen Street is a 32-storey purpose-built student accommodation tower in midtown Auckland, close to the University of Auckland. It will provide 638 studio-style beds, making it one of the largest student accommodation buildings in the country. Construction started in October 2025 on the site of Auckland's first McDonald's, and the tower is due to open for the 2029 academic year. The $201 million building is targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating.
