Mareanui

An eight-storey mass-timber office building at 90 Devonport Road, home of Tauranga City Council and the first building to bring the council's administration staff together under one roof since 2014. The 10,400 m² structure uses more than 2,700 m³ of cross-laminated timber and 900 m³ of laminated veneer lumber sourced from Rotorua and Nelson, cutting lifecycle carbon by around 60% and storing over 2,700 tonnes of CO₂. It carries a 6 Star Green Star Design rating and targets 5 Star NABERSNZ and WELL Gold.
